Elementary School

The first Elementary School in Anarita began its operation in the beginning of the 20th century and was housed in a barn. That first primary school numbered approximately 15 pupils, among which were pupils from the surrounding communities as well, while their ages varied between 6 and 18 years of age.

The first teacher was named Stylianos and he was employed by the Ecclesiastical Committee and the noblemen of the community. The teacher did not receive any pay but the pupils’ parents were responsible for providing his meals.

Today in Anarita operates an all-day Elementary School with 7 teachers and 37 pupils.
